Compound Sentences (ေပါင္းစပ္ဝါက်မ်ား) ဆိုတာဘာလဲ။ ဘယ္လို Sentence (ဝါက်မ်ဳိး)ကို Compound Sentence (ေပါင္းစပ္ဝါက်)ဟုေခၚသနည္း။ Compound Sentences (ေပါင္းစပ္ဝါက်မ်ား)ဟူသည္ Simple Sentence (ရိုးရိုးဝါက်) ႏွစ္ခု သို႔မဟုတ္ ႏွစ္ခုထက္ပိုေသာ ဝါက်တို႔ကို Coordinator Conjunctions သို႔မဟုတ္ Connective Adverbs တို႔ျဖင့္ ဝါက်တစ္ခုတည္းျဖစ္ေအာင္ဖြဲ႔စည္းေရးစပ္ထားေသာ ဝါက်မ်ားကို Compound Sentences (ေပါင္းစပ္ဝါက်မ်ား)ဟုေခၚတယ္။ Simple Sentence ကို Independent Clause ဟုလည္းေခၚၾက၏။ ဥပမာ - Subject + Verb + Objective / Complement
(I love her. I'm a student.)
Compound Sentences (ေပါင္းစပ္ဝါက်မ်ား)ကိုေရးဖြဲ႔ရာတြင္ Coordinator Conjunctions သို႔မဟုတ္ Connective Adverbs သို႔မဟုတ္ Punctuation သက္သက္ျဖင့္ေရးဖြဲ႔ႏိုင္တယ္။
ေအာက္ပါ Compound Sentences (ေပါင္းစပ္ဝါက်မ်ား) ကိုေလ့လာၾကည့္ၾကရေအာင္။ Independent Clause တို႔အား Underline ျဖင့္ျပထားတယ္။ Bold ျဖင့္ျပထားသည့္ အပိုင္းကိုေတာ့ Coordinator Conjunctions သို႔မဟုတ္ Connective Adverbs သို႔မဟုတ္ Punctuation တစ္ခုခုဟုမွတ္သားပါ။
ဥပမာ။ ။
1. I saw no one in the room, so I didn't go in.
အခန္းထဲတြင္ ဘယ္သူ႔ကိုမွကၽြန္ေတာ္မျမင္ခဲ့ပါဘူး။ အဲဒါေၾကာင့္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ အထဲသို႔မဝင္ခဲ့ပါဘူးဗ်။ (အခန္းထဲတြင္ဘယ္သူ႔ကိုမွ မေတြ႔ျမင္ရခဲ့ေသာေၾကာင့္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္အထဲသို႔မဝင္ခဲ့ပါ။)
2. I saw no one in the room; therefore, I didn't go in.
အခန္းထဲတြင္ ဘယ္သူ႔ကိုမွကၽြန္ေတာ္မျမင္ခဲ့ပါဘူး။ ထို႔ေၾကာင့္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ အထဲသို႔မဝင္ခဲ့ပါဘူးဗ်။
3. I saw no one in the room; I didn't go in.
အခန္းထဲတြင္ ဘယ္သူ႔ကိုမွကၽြန္ေတာ္မျမင္ခဲ့လို႔ အထဲသို႔မဝင္ခဲ့ပါဘူးဗ်။
အထက္ပါ Compound Sentences သံုးမ်ဳိးတို႔တြင္ I saw no one in the room. ႏွင့္ I didn't go in. တို႔ဟာ Independent Clause ႏွစ္ခုပဲျဖစ္တယ္။ နံပါတ္ (၁) ဝါက်ကို So ဟူေသာ Conjunction ျဖင့္ဆက္ထားျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ so ဆိုတဲ့ Conjunction အနားမွာ ကပ္လ်က္ Comma (,) ထည့္ထားတာကိုသတိျပဳပါ။ နံပါတ္ (၂) ဝါက်ကိုေတာ့ therefore ဆိုတဲ့ Conjunctive Adverbနဲ႔ဆက္ထားတယ္။ therefore ဆိုတဲ့ စကားဆက္ရဲ့ေရွ႕တြင္ Semicolon (;) ထည့္ထားၿပီး ၄င္းရဲ့ စကားဆက္ရဲ့ေနာက္တြင္ Comma (,) ထည့္ၿပီးေရးထားတာကို အထူးသတိထားပါ။ ေနာက္ဆံုးဝါက် နံပါတ္ (၃) မွာေတာ့ Independent clause ႏွစ္ခုရဲ့ၾကားတြင္ semicolon (;) တစ္ခုတည္းအသံုးျပဳ၍ေရးဖြဲ႔ထားျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ ဒါလည္းပဲ Compound Sentence ပဲျဖစ္တယ္။
Compound Sentences တို႔ကိုေရးဖြဲ႔ရာတြင္ And - Type, But - Type, Or- Type, and So-Type ဟု ေယဘုယ်မွတ္သားၾကရေအာင္။
(and - ႏွင့္၊ ၍။ but - သို႔ရာတြင္၊ ဒါေပမယ့္။ or - ဒါမွမဟုတ္၊ သို႔မဟုတ္၊ သို႔ရာတြင္။ so - ဒါေၾကာင့္၊ ထိုေၾကာင့္။ အဲဒါေၾကာင့္။)
ဒါမဟုတ္ရင္ ဒါျဖစ္ရမယ္ စသည့္သေဘာေဆာင္က or-type ျဖင့္ဆက္ပါ။ ဥပမာ - တစ္ခုခုကို တတ္အပ္မသိဘူး။ ဒီဥစၥာက "ေရႊျဖစ္မယ္။ ဒါမွမဟုတ္ ေငြ ျဖစ္မယ္" စသည္ျဖင့္ ဝိုးတိုးဝါးတားျဖစ္ေနရင္ေပါ့။
ဆန္႔က်င္ဖက္ျဖစ္က but-type ျဖင့္ဆက္ပါ။ ဥပမာ - "ေနမေကာင္းဘူး။ ဒါေပမယ့္လည္း ေက်ာင္းကိုသြားရတယ္" စသည္ျဖင့္။
အေၾကာင္းေၾကာင့္ အက်ဳိးတစ္ခုျဖစ္ရင္ so-type ျဖင့္ဆက္ပါ။ ဥပမာ - "သူမဟာ စာက်က္ဖို႔ပ်င္းခဲ့တယ္။ အဲဒါေၾကာင့္ စာေမးပြဲက်ခဲ့တယ္" စသည္ စသည္ျဖင့္။
အထက္ပါသေဘာထားမသက္ေရာက္ပါက and-type ျဖင့္ဆက္ပါ။ ဥပမာ - "ကၽြန္ေတာ္က ဆရာတစ္ေယာက္ျဖစ္တယ္။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္စာျပေနတယ္" ။
And-Type
And-Type ျဖင့္ဆက္တဲ့ Compound Sentences ေတြကိုေလ့လာၾကစို႔။ ဝါက်တိုင္းကို ဘာသာျပန္လို႔ေတာ့ မေပးေတာ့ဘူး။ နမူဝါက်ေတြေလာက္ပဲေရးေပးသြားပါမယ္။

both ......and .... ႏွစ္ခု/ႏွစ္ေယာက္စလံုး။
not only ...... but also ..... သာမဟုတ္ .... လည္းပဲ။

I have a bad cold. ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ေတာ္ေတာ့္ကို အေအးမိေနတယ္။

One part of the TV screen carried the tennis game. တြီဗြီဖန္သားျပင္တစ္ဘက္က တင္းနစ္ပြဲျပေနတယ္။
The other part showed the game show. အျခားတစ္ဖက္ျခမ္းမွာေတာ့ ၿပိဳင္ပြဲေတြျပေနတယ္။

The young man needs a car for his work. ဒီလူငယ္မွာ အလုပ္အတြက္ ကားတစ္စီးလိုအပ္ေနတယ္။
He is going to buy one right away. သူဟာ အခုပဲကားတစ္စီးသြားဝယ္ေတာ့မယ္။

He agreed. သူကသေဘာတူတယ္။
I agreed.ကၽြန္ေတာ္က သေဘာတူတယ္။

(Subject ႏွစ္ခု (he ႏွင့္ I) ကို both..and ႏွင့္ဆက္ထားသည္။ and ႏွင့္လည္း ဆက္ႏိုင္သည္။ ဥပမာ - He and I agreed.)
She can write Japanese. သူမဟာ ဂ်ပန္စာကိုေရးတတ္တယ္။
She can speak Japanese. သူမဟာ ဂ်ပန္စကားေျပာတတ္တယ္။
>>> She can both write and speak Japanese. (Compound Sentence)
(Verb ႏွစ္လံုး (write ႏွင့္ speak) ကို both ... and ႏွင့္ဆက္ထားသည္။)
He has lived in Britain. သူဟာ ၿဗိတိန္မွာေနဖူးတယ္။
He has lived in America. သူဟာ အေမရိကမွာေနဖူးတယ္။

(Place (ေနရာျပပုဒ္) ႏွစ္ခု (Britain ႏွင့္ America) ကို both...and ႏွင့္ဆက္ထားသည္။)
Not only ....... but also....
He read the book. သူဟာ စာအုပ္ဖတ္ေနတယ္။
He remembered what he read. သူဖတ္ခဲ့သမွ်ကို သူကမွတ္မိေနတယ္။
>>> He not only read the book but also remembered what he read. (Compound Sentence)
(Verb ႏွစ္လံုး (read ႏွင့္ remembered) ႏွစ္လံုးကို not only....but also ႏွင့္ဆက္ထားသည္။)
2. Conjunctive Adverbs
besides - မွတစ္ပါး။ ၄င္းအျပင္။ ထို႔အျပင္။
moreover - ထို႔အျပင္။ သာမက။
in addition - ထို႔အျပင္။ လည္းပဲ။
furthermore - ထို႔အျပင္။
He was tired. သူက ေမာေနၿပီ။
He was hungry. သူဟာ ဗိုက္ဆာေနၿပီ။
>>> He was tired; besides, he was hungry.
>>> He was tired; moreover, he was hungry.
>>> He was tired; in addition, he was hungry.
>>> He was tired; furthermore, he was hungry.
But-Type
ဆန္႔က်င္ဘက္ဝါက်ႏွစ္ခုကိုဆက္ရာတြင္ သံုးသည္။
I. Coordinate Conjunctions
but - သို႔ရာတြင္။ ဒါေပမယ့္။
yet - သို႔ရာတြင္။ ဒါေပမယ့္။
while - စဥ္တြင္။ သို႔ရာတြင္။
whereas - စင္စစ္ကေတာ့။ သို႔ရာတြင္။
He tried to tell her the truth. သူသည္ သူမအားအမွန္တရားးကိုေျပာဖို႔ႀကိဳးစားခဲ့တယ္။
She din't listen to him. သူမဟာ သူေျပာတာကိုနားမေထာင္ခဲ့ဘူး။

He struggled. သူသည္ အလြန္ႀကိဳးစားခဲ့တယ္။
He failed. သူဟာ ရႈံးနိမ့္ခဲ့ရတယ္။

She is a funny girl. သူမဟာ ေၾကာင္ေတာင္ေကာင္မေလးတစ္ေယာက္ပဲ။
You can't help admiring her. ခင္ဗ်ားဟာ သူမကို မေလးစားပဲ (မခင္မင္ပဲ) မေနႏိုင္ပါဘူး။
>>> She is a funny girl, yet you can't help admiring her. (Compound Sentence)
You like sports. ခင္ဗ်ားက အားကစားကိုႀကိဳက္တယ္။
I would rather read. ကၽြန္ေတာ္ကေတာ့ စာဖတ္တာကိုပိုႀကိဳက္တယ္။

They wanted a house. သူတို႔က အိမ္တစ္လံုးလိုခ်င္ခဲ့ၾကတယ္။
We would rather live in a flat. ငါတို႔ကေတာ့ တိုက္ခန္းနဲ႔ေနရတာကိုပိုႀကိဳက္တယ္။

He changed his mind. သူ႔စိတ္က ေျပာင္းလဲသြားခဲ့တယ္။

The sun is shining. ေနပူေနတယ္။
I'm sure it will rain. မိုးရြာလိမ့္မယ္ဆိုတာေသခ်ာပါတယ္။

Sunlight is good for health. ေနေရာင္ျခည္ဟာ က်န္းမာေရးအတြက္ေကာင္းပါတယ္။
Too much sunlight may cause illness. အလြန္အကၽြံေနပူခ်ိန္ကေတာ့က်န္းမာေရးကိုထိခိုက္ေစပါယ္။

ဒီေန႔အတြက္ သခၤန္းစာကေတာ့ ဒီေလာက္ပါပဲေနာ္။ ေနာက္ထပ္ Compound Sentence နဲ႔ပတ္သက္တဲ့ သခၤန္းစာေတြကိုလည္း ဆက္လက္တင္ေပးပါအံုးမယ္။ အဲဒီအခါက်ရင္ ေလ့က်င့္ေတြကိုပါ တင္ေပးပါ့မယ္။ ဘဝပန္းတိုင္း တက္လွမ္းႏိုင္ၾကပါေစ။
