Two Kinds of Noun - နာမ္ (၂) မ်ဳိး

Countable Nouns and Uncountable Nouns

ေရတြက္၍ရေသာနာမ္ႏွင့္ ေရတြက္၍မရေသာနာမ္

၁။ တစ္ခု၊ ႏွစ္ခု၊ တစ္ေယာက္၊ ႏွစ္ေယာက္ စသည္ျဖင့္ ေရတြက္၍ရေသာ နာမ္မ်ားကို Countable Noun (C.N)  (ေရတြက္၍ရေသာ) နာမည္ဟုေခၚသည္။

ဥပမာ။ ။               Book - စာအုပ္။ Pencil - ခဲတံ။ Boy - လူကေလး။ Girl - မိန္းကေလး။ Chair - ကုလားထိုင္။ Table - စားပြဲခံု။

၂။ တစ္ခု၊ ႏွစ္ခု စသည္ျဖင့္ ေရတြက္၍မရေသာ နာမ္ပုဒ္မ်ားကို Uncountable Noun (U.N) (ေရတြက္၍မရေသာ) နာမ္ဟုေခၚသည္။

ဥပမာ။         Milk - ႏို႔။ Water - ေရ။ Tea - လဘက္ရည္။ Meat - အသား။ Gold - ေ႐ႊ။ Silver - ေငြ။ Iron - သံ။ Steel - သံမဏိ။ Lead - ခဲ။ Cotton - ဝါဂြမ္း။ Paddy - စပါး။ Rice - ဆန္၊ ထမင္း။ Wheat - ဂ်ဳံ။ Flour - ဂ်ဳံမုန္႔။ Ink - မွင္။ Coffee - ေကာ္ဖီ။ Teak - ကၽြန္းသစ္။ Air - ေလ။ Happiness - ေပ်ာ္႐ႊင္ျခင္း။ Laziness - ပ်င္းရိျခင္း။ Honesty - ႐ိုးသားမႈ။ Wood - သစ္သား။ Music - ဂီတ။ Anger - ေဒါသ။ Smoke - မီးခိုး။ Intelligence - အသိညာဏ္။ Sand - သဲ။ Earth - ေျမႀကီး၊ ကမၻာ။
 

အထူးမွတ္ရန္ (၃) ခ်က္

1.      U.N မ်ားကို မည့္သည့္အခါမွ ဗဟုဝုစ္ကိန္း (အမ်ားကိန္း) မေျပာင္းရ။ (golds, silvers, etc. ျဖင့္မေရးရ။)

2.      U.N မ်ားေ႐ွ႕တြင္ ‘a’ သို႔မဟုတ္ ‘an’ ကိုမည္သည့္အခါမွ မသံုးရ။ (a gold, a silver, etc.ျဖင့္မေရးရ။)

3.      C.N ဧကဝုစ္ (အနည္းကိန္း)မ်ားေ႐ွ႕တြင္ “ a, an, the” တစ္ခုခု အၿမဲပါရသည္။ (pen, dog, etc. ျဖင့္ မေရးရ။)

ေအာက္ပါ Noun (နာမ္ပုဒ္) မ်ားကို C.N ႏွင့္ U.N ခြဲျပပါ။
